Troop 900 headed to Uwharrie Hunt Camp for a focused Camping Essentials weekend designed to build the foundational skills every Scout needs from Scout rank through First Class.
The emphasis was on the basics done right: proper tent setup, campsite selection, fire building, cooking, packing, and outdoor living skills that form the backbone of rank advancement. Scouts practiced these essentials in a real camp setting so the knowledge sticks and confidence grows.
These intentional skill-building campouts are some of the most valuable weekends we run. They give newer Scouts the tools they need and give older Scouts the chance to teach and lead. By the end of the weekend the Troop was sharper, more capable, and better prepared for bigger adventures ahead.
Thanks to the Scouts and leaders who made it a productive and successful trip. Solid work all around.
